Barry Murphy is a seasoned market intelligence professional, combining skills in product marketing, market research, and data analysis to build expertise in various technology markets.

Barry Murphy is a special advisor to Palmera Pickleball, bringing over 20 years of leadership in market intelligence from the tech world to the pickleball court. Most recently, Barry was the Head of Generative AI market intelligence at AWS, helping to bring Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Q successfully to market. He also has experience leading product marketing at a number of tech companies, and was a leading expert on the legal technology business during his time as an analyst at Forrester Research.

 

After a hip replacement surgery, Barry discovered pickleball as a healthy alternative to the high impact sports he enjoyed earlier in life. While he misses delivering punishing hip checks on the ice rink, he is happy to have an outlet for the his competitive nature. He is also fascinated by the business of pickleball, and is spending time on weekends analyzing various elements of pickleball market intelligence to assist Palmera with prioritizing opportunities to help pickleballers find great places to travel and play, get advice on products and game strategy, and improve their psychological well-being to optimize pickleball performance.
