Road to 5.0: A Father & Son Journey - New YouTube Docuseries

Follow Geoff and Jeremy as they document their climb from 3.9 and 3.7 DUPR ratings to 5.0 in their new YouTube docuseries, Road to 5.0: A Father & Son Journey. It’s a raw, inspiring look at family, focus, and what it takes to chase improvement at any age.

Road to 5.0: A Father & Son Journey - New YouTube Docuseries

Starting this month, my son Jeremy and I are releasing a new docuseries on YouTube called Road to 5.0: A Father & Son Journey. Each episode (around 15 to 25 minutes) will drop once a month, and it will document our real journey: the breakthroughs, the setbacks, the lessons, and the laughter, as we chase one big shared goal—getting our DUPR ratings up to 5.0.

Right now, we’re sitting at 3.906 (me) and 3.781 (Jeremy) in doubles. Those numbers come from a handful of 2025 DUPR-rated tournaments, including a few PPA Challengers and a couple of PPA events. (And we have a slightly messy early history of logged rec and family games that skewed the data a bit). But this week, we’re stepping into a new chapter: competing at the 4.5 level for the first time at the World Championships in Dallas.

That’s our baseline. That’s where the road begins. Together, we'll see what it takes to grind our way to reliable 5.0 ratings.

Inside the Journey: Training, Coaching, and Real Growth

The Road to 5.0 series aims to share the story of two players, two co-founders, two generations, working together.

You’ll see everything from on-court training and coaching sessions with different pros to the drills and conditioning routines we use to build our game. You’ll get a front-row seat to our thought process, how we adapt strategy, how we break through mental blocks, and sometimes, how we fall flat and get back up again.

We’re keeping it raw and real.

For example, just two days after deciding to launch this docuseries, I tore ligaments in my wrist hitting a tennis-style overhead on a lob that got behind me. I learned the hard way that putting wrist action on a ball behind your body is a recipe for injury. That’s the kind of thing we’re going to show—not just the highlights, but the humbling moments and the work involved in grinding to get there.

A Fun Side Story: Building Palmera Pickleball

Running parallel to our road to 5.0 is another related journey: the building of Palmera Pickleball itself.

As many of you know, we’re partnering with Rancho Santana in Nicaragua to develop what will become one of the most beautiful pickleball destinations in the world: a training and lifestyle hub overlooking the Pacific. The courts we’re building there will host tournaments, getaways, and our own training sessions, creating a place where community, competition, and coastal living meet.

So when you watch the series, you’re not just watching two players grow. You’re watching a startup pickleball venture come to life. You’re seeing what it looks like to build something from scratch, fueled by love for the sport and for each other.

Why Watch

If you enjoy pickleball or stories of personal development, this series is for you. You’ll see drills you can add to your own training, insights from the pros, and likely some lessons that apply beyond the court.

Jeremy is 19, hungry, and focused on breaking into the pro level, while I’m 44, carrying the same fire but representing a different kind of dream—the dream of every player who’s discovered this sport later in life and still wants to see how far they can go. My journey is about proving that improvement never has an expiration date. Jeremy’s chasing the top, and I’m chasing my own version of it. Together, we hope to inspire players of all ages to go after their goals with discipline, focus, and hard work, and to show that growth is always possible when you commit to the process.
